Looking for parking in Downtown Essex Junction?
Whether you’re grabbing a bite, doing some shopping, or heading to a protest at Five Corners, parking in downtown Essex Junction can feel tricky if you don’t know where to look.
There is plenty of on-street parking near places like the Amtrak station, but below are a few less obvious, city-friendly parking spots that are still close to everything, and often overlooked.
Behind Firebird Cafe

There’s a city-maintained gravel lot behind Firebird Cafe. The address is roughly 2 Maple Street, with the entrance on Maple. Because many people don’t realize this lot exists, it’s often surprisingly empty.

Along the Crescent Connector

There’s a new small public lot along the Crescent Connector at 131 Railroad Street. Bonus: it includes a Level 1 EV charger.

Garage behind Boxcar Bakery

A slightly hidden free parking garage sits behind Boxcar Bakery. Turn onto Park Terrace and it will be on your left. The garage is setup for local retail use. So please be sure to patronize Boxcar or one of the other great businesses nearby!

Brownell Library

The Brownell Library turns 100 years old in 2026. Congratulations!
It has excellent parking behind the building. Although, If you’re not visiting the library itself, please make sure you use the spots out back, and not the 3, five-minute-only spots right up front.
